About the Journal

The Journal of Operational Medicine (JOM) is the official publication of the Academy of Operational Medicine. It is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal for interdisciplinary research in all aspects of operational medicine.

The Academy defines operational medicine as the practice of medicine in unconventional, hostile, or austere environments where access to critical resources is severely limited. Membership in the Academy is not a requisite for publication and does not influence editorial decisions.

JOM accepts manuscripts for consideration that have not been published elsewhere and are not simultaneously under consideration by any other publication. Original research articles undergo blinded peer review and will be published within six months of submission if accepted. JOM is published on a continuous basis with no fees for readers or authors.
